At Suntide II Resort Condominiums, there really is something for everyone.

Whether it’s relaxation, fun activities or even a quiet place to work, Suntide II offers a wide variety of options for guests traveling to South Padre Island, Texas.

“It’s just unique,” Munzesheimer said. “There are not a lot of places on the Island that are that spacious, that accommodating and have that great of a view – that close to the beach.”

Finding things to do is as easy as taking a short walk. Guests can walk right out onto the beach – which was recently honored as one of TripAdvisor’s Top 25 Beaches of 2011. They can also enjoy the heated swimming pool, relax in the Jacuzzi, get some exercise on the tennis courts or take on some beach volleyball.

Also within walking distance are a slew of stores and restaurants that can accommodate guests with pocketbooks of all sizes. Whether you’re looking for an up-scale shopping experience or a beachside bar that will serve you in your swimming suit, you won’t have to search far.

“It’s really cool,” Munzesheimer  said. “You have both ends of the spectrum.”

If you’re looking for more of a planned activity, guests can enjoy wake boarding, kite boarding, sailing, horseback riding, fishing, a dolphin tour or even a sunset cruise. In addition, the local convention center offers tons of activities throughout the year. And, special events like “Bike Week” and “Sandlecastle Days” are bound to entertain.

And while there’s a lot to do, you may just want to relax.

“There’s always something going on,” Munzesheimer said. “And yet, you don’t HAVE to do anything.”

While Suntide II is a resort, it’s small enough to make you feel at home. And, for many cold climate retirees, that’s exactly what it becomes in the winter.  From December to February, many “Winter Texans” escape the cold weather and flee to the island, which is one of the southernmost places in the continental United States.

Before switching to LiveRez, Suntide II wasn’t equipped with these powerful demographics. In fact, Toni remembers checking license plates in the parking lot to see where her guests were coming from.

“That’s so archaic now,” she said. “And we don’t have to deal with that because of LiveRez.”

Suntide II also experienced a major upgrade in their website when they switched to LiveRez. Now the business has a website it can be proud of, and, according to Toni, the new site has made it much easier for guests to book online. And, website traffic is up tremendously, she added.

“LiveRez has really allowed us to expand our web presence, and that had been one of Suntide II’s goals for years,” Munzesheimer said.

“We never had any web presence, and for years and years and years we kept saying, ‘we’ve got to get the website, we’ve got to get the website,’” she said.

Munzesheimer said that when they brought on Treasurer Dave Moore, he began looking at different systems.  And, he found a gem in LiveRez.

“Once he hit upon LiveRez, it made a huge difference,” she said.

According to Moore, sales are up 22 percent this year – even in a slow economy. But despite these tough times, guests of Suntide II can really experience a vacation to remember.
